The Story
In the 1960s, a scientist obsessed with the element cobalt believed he had found the key to human immortality. His research disappeared into secrecy — sealed labs, hidden vaults, and a name that still turns up in fragments across the island: Cobalt.
Decades later, an island codenamed Hapis — Turkish for "prison" — became a dumping ground for those the world had already given up on. Life-sentence inmates were given a choice: rot in a cell, or fend for themselves on the island, where the ocean was the wall and every other survivor could be a warden. The Rust Program began on May 10, 2024.
Supply drops still fall from the sky. Cargo ships still pass the coast. Patrol helicopters still circle overhead — nobody left remembers who's flying them, or why. Somewhere beneath the rust, Cobalt's experiments are still running.
